What do you find frustrating about your TWA or is it smooth sailing?

Sometimes a TWA especially just after a BC can be extremely dry. How do you keep your TWA moisturized?

Fiercest TWA hair-do

I know having shorter natural hair can be frustrating at times and styling options can be, or feel very limited. But we can still pull of some pretty bad ass styles if we get creative enough so I…Continue

I'm on my 3rd BC. This growing out phase is racking my last nerve.  I love it when it's super short and easy to maintain (great curl pattern at this length).  I also absoultley love it when it's long enough for a puff (I always add a twist in front with a flower).  But this in between stage where i't way too short for a puff  but too long to be considered cropped is a killer.  For now sticking with gel twists because it is way too cold for a wash-n-go.

Ok so, i'm not sure if you would still call this a TWA since it can technically go up in a pony tail (hw evr pathetic that pony tail may be LOL)

Hey all, so as Mz A said mineral oil isn't absorbed into the hair and coats it which can cause build up. But a lot of the things we use, including all natural products, are not absorbed by our hair and essentially do the same thing as mineral oil. Very few things beside water and a select few oils can penetrate the hair shaft so I say that water is the BEST moisturizer. Always add water then a leave-in product and an oil or pomade (with our without mineral oil) to seal everything in and to give so hold for your style. Advice about natural hair and products are a dime a dozen so you just have to listen to your hair and do what is best for it even if it goes against common natural hair doctrine.

Mineral oil is suppose to be bad because your hair can't absorb it. The theory is the oil just coats your hair and causes a lot of build up. Personally I'm ignoring the advice about mineral oils for now. The stylist that cut my hair recommended Liv hairdressing by summit. It contains mineral oil but its been really moisturizing my hair so I'm going to use it anyways.

I think for the most part, for me, its been a little bit of a challenge to keep my twa moisturised. My hair drinks water...so i have been trying to find products that are suited. They say mineral oil isnt good for black hair..yet most of the products have mineral oil. can anyone tell me why mineral oil is supposedly bad?

Asides from that..its been pretty much alright..im learning my hair and its all so fascinating..:)

I'm confused about Organic Root Stimulator products: everyone goes on about how great they are, but almost all of them have petrolatum or mineral oil in..?
