Which brand of color is best to use on natural hair? is there a such thing as "natural color?"
Comment by shethinksoften on December 29, 2011 at 11:53pm I love coloring my hair and twisting it. I moisturize it with coconut oil and shea butter mixture. I haven't experienced any breakage.
Comment by Felicia on December 6, 2011 at 1:52pm I think that the most important thing for me since I started coloring my hair has been using protective styles. I am one of those have to stay in my hair naturals...always washing my hair naturals...so I try to go atleast 2 1/2 weeks without washing my hair so that my hair has time to absorb enough of the products i use and retain them. I never really wash my hair with shampoo, but if I do I use moisture retension shampoo from shea moisture, but most of the time I co-wash with Giovanni's deeper moisture conditioner, (prior to this I apply the lisa's hair elixir mixed with tea tree and coconut oil to my scalp)...then I apply a oil I made myself (comprised of olive oil, coconut, vitamin E, jojoba oil, shea oil, and tea tree oil), shea butter and style using the curl enhancing smoothie from shea moisture or the curly curl cream from taliah waajid. Sleeping with a satin cap helps too. I hope this helps :) I have only been completely natural (no straighteners) for less than a year and my hair is a little longer than shoulder length. I went from dark brown-chestnut brown-auburn-plum within this time.

Why hasn't anyone commented yet? I'm still newly natural & my hair is suffering from this color. I need some serious advice on how to maintain the health of my hair as well as my color. Ok ladies I'm looking forward to receiving some advice/tips. Thanks.
