Permalink Reply by nancy on February 8, 2012 at 2:35pm honestly the only advice that I can think of is things you already know, either protective styling with cute updo or something....or put it away with wigs and moisturize but if your hair is the type to grow fast then you'll get there in no time but if its afro textured then it might take a while......
Permalink Reply by Rexxy Lee on February 10, 2012 at 7:35pm yeah my hair is afro textured and very thick , it usually takes a while to grow but lately ive been doing scalp massages and it works, parts of my hair is growing longer !
I'll add also daily scalp massages, maybe workout too can be good for blood circulation. Otherwise is just rentention tips like PS use product like ayurvedic powder, pre-poo, sealing the moisture (w/ oil, butters or cream of choice) or too use ingredients like hydrolized rice protein, vegetable ceramides, EO etc...
(still french don't mind the spelling mistakes please ^^)

Permalink Reply by Nisha on February 10, 2012 at 3:30pm My hair grew pretty quickly, like in the space of 3 mths, it went from an ear length layered bob, to shoulder length. I think the fact that i took a break from any kind of processing : continuous dyeing, flat ironing, my hair had some time to just grow. I'm working on the thicker part now
What's your plan for the thicker part ? Just curious =)

Permalink Reply by Nisha on February 10, 2012 at 8:14pm Well I was looking at a video that BushBabes (Cipriana and Nikisha posted on detangling) and Nikisha said that when she started moisturising and detangling her hair the "proper" way she lost less hair, and it became thicker. Plus I've also read that castor oil thickens hair as well.
My hair is thinning at my hairline around my temples. But my mother is 59 and has super thick hair and she's been treating her hair with olive oil for years. She usually just warms it and then puts in her hair for most of the day until she's ready to wash it out.
So I'm like u guys trying to find what works for me and what products will aid with thicker hair growth
Ok what your mother do is pre-pooing before washing maybe you can mix castor oil and olive oil (if this oil works for you too, you can do it with any other oil) the night or hours before you wash and apply it on your hair and also scalp (take the time to massage it specially your hairline).
I find that yes castor oil thickens hair !! (some find that henna do too, cassia if you don't want color)
Now that I finger detangle (dry hair + oil) my hair is less damage. I don't know if when you say thickens it means also more volume if so try rhassoul clay (you can add castor/olive oil in it too and other stuff like eggs), hydrolized rice protein in your spray bottle it is known to give more volume or a cure of brewer's yeast.
Right now castor oil + my infusion oil seems to work (once a week as a pre-poo like I write above)
Good luck on finding what work for you ^-^
Permalink Reply by Nisha on February 12, 2012 at 6:40pm I want more volume. I've just begun any kind of regimen, so i'm going to see what works. Plus I'm limited in what products I have available to me unless I order them online.
But I'm excited to see how my hair changes and grows.
Thanks for the tips that you guys are sharing
